Pakistan’s Ministry of Climate Change Seeks Technical Advisor to Drive Environmental Agenda
The Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination has announced a vacancy for the position of Technical Advisor (MP-I Scale), a senior-level role aimed at bolstering Pakistan’s climate action framework. Applications are open to Pakistani nationals for a three-year contract, extendable up to two additional years based on performance, under the MP Scale Policy-2020.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must hold a Ph.D., M.Phil., or Master’s degree in disciplines such as Climate Change, Environmental Sciences, Renewable Energy, Climate Finance, or other relevant fields from an HEC-recognized or internationally reputed university. Preference will be given to those with degrees from world-class institutions or highly cited research publications.
Experience requirements include at least seven years for Ph.D. holders and nine years for Master’s degree holders in the relevant sector, with a minimum of three years in senior management positions. Expertise in policy formulation, strategic planning, and development initiatives—particularly in climate change—is essential.
Preferred Expertise
The Ministry is seeking candidates with:
· A comprehensive understanding of national and international climate scenarios.
· Proven leadership in climate modeling, financial modeling, policy analysis, and MRV (Measurement, Reporting, and Verification) systems.
· Experience with UN agencies, climate finance institutions, capital markets, climate law firms, or climate-related start-ups.
· The ability to draft climate change-related legislation and coordinate with governments, donors, NGOs, and civil society.
Age Limit & Quota
The maximum age is 62 years (calculated on the closing date for applications). The position falls under Open Merit.
