Government of Sindh Energy Department Announces Vacancy for Stenographer in Hyderabad Region
HYDERABAD: The Electric Inspectorate, Hyderabad Region, under the Energy Department of the Government of Sindh, has issued a vacancy announcement inviting applications from eligible candidates holding a domicile of Sindh province.
The announcement, published recently, seeks to fill one (01) position of Stenographer (BPS-14) on a merit basis.
Eligibility Criteria
Interested applicants must meet the following educational and skill requirements:
· Education: A Bachelor’s degree in at least 2nd Division or an equivalent CGPA from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
· Technical Certificates: A six-month certificate in Shorthand and English Typing from an institute recognized by the Sindh Board of Technical Education (SBTE).
· Minimum Speeds: 120 words per minute (w.p.m.) in Shorthand and 35 w.p.m. in English Typing on a computer.
· Computer Proficiency: A certificate in MS Office from an institute recognized by the SBTE.
Age Limit & Relaxation
The required age limit is 21 to 28 years. However, the notification notes that a general upper age relaxation of 05 years will be applicable as per the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department’s notification dated March 6, 2025.
Mandatory STS Screening Test
A key requirement is that applicants must have already passed the General Screening Test for the Graduation Category with at least 40% marks, conducted by Sukkur IBA Testing Services (STS). A valid certificate issued by STS must be possessed by the candidate.

Eligible candidates are required to apply online exclusively through the Sindh Job Portal at https://sjp.gos.pk. Applications submitted via any other mode will not be accepted.
The deadline for submission is within fifteen (15) days from the date of publication of the advertisement.
Additional Instructions for Applicants
· Quota: The Government of Sindh’s reserved quota rules for initial appointments will be strictly followed.
· Government Employees: Those already in government service must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their parent department before applying and bring the original NOC at the time of interview.
· Interview: Applicants must appear before the Departmental Selection Committee with original documents. The interview schedule will be uploaded on the job portal.
· No TA/DA: No travel or daily allowance will be provided for attending the interview.
· Legal Framework: The appointment will be made under the Sindh Civil Servants Act 1973 and its rules, along with the Government of Sindh’s appointment policy notified on April 26, 2023.
