Higher Education Commission (HEC) Announces Job Opportunities in North Waziristan

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, in collaboration with the “Uraan Pakistan” initiative, has officially announced several contract-based, project-funded positions. As detailed in the advertisement, these opportunities are part of the development project titled “Establishment of Pir Roshan Institute of Progressive Sciences & Technologies, Miranshah, North Waziristan Tribal District.”

Vacant Positions and Eligibility Criteria

All listed positions will be based at the duty station in Miranshah, North Waziristan Tribal District. Below is a breakdown of the available roles, age limits, and required qualifications:

1. Project Director (PPS-10)

• Number of Posts: 01
• Maximum Age: 62 Years
• Qualifications: B.Sc. (Civil Engineering) or Master in Project Management (16 years) from an HEC recognized university.
• Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in public sector project management or implementation. Candidates with a proven track record of successfully completing similar public or private sector projects will be preferred.

2. Site Engineer (Civil) (PPS-7)

• Number of Posts: 01
• Maximum Age: 40 Years
• Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (at least 2nd Division) from an HEC recognized university, and must be duly registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
• Experience: Minimum five (5) years of post-qualification experience, including at least two (2) years of fieldwork. Hands-on command of Auto CAD and MS Office is preferred.

3. Accountant (PPS-6)

• Number of Posts: 01
• Maximum Age: 40 Years
• Qualifications: MBA (Finance) / CMA / BBA / B.Com (Hons.) (16 years) with at least a 2nd Division from an HEC recognized institution.
• Experience: Three (3) years of post-qualification relevant experience in a private or public organization.

4. Sub-Engineer (PPS-6)

• Number of Posts: 01
• Maximum Age: 40 Years
• Qualifications: Three (3) years Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Civil from a recognized institute or technical board.
• Experience: Three (3) years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field.

5. Attendant (PPS-2)

• Number of Posts: 02
• Maximum Age: 35 Years
• Qualifications: Matriculation with one (1) year of experience.
• Note: Local domicile holders will be preferred for this position.

Important Terms and Conditions

Before applying, candidates should carefully note the following guidelines:

• Experience Definition: “Experience” strictly refers to the experience gained after obtaining the minimum required qualification. Part-time, honorary, apprentice, and internee roles (as part of study) will not be counted.
• Age Relaxation: A general age relaxation of five (5) years is already included in the maximum age limits. Further relaxation will be granted as per Government rules.
• Posting Flexibility: While the primary duty station is Miranshah, selected candidates can be posted anywhere in Pakistan.
• Testing Locations: Screening tests will be conducted at locations closest to the candidates, including Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, and Peshawar. No TA/DA will be provided for test/interview attendance.
