Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR) Announces New Job Vacancies for Cannabis Project
The Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Pakistan, through the Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR) Laboratories Complex in Lahore, has officially announced new employment opportunities. As detailed in the advertisement , applications are being invited from qualified Pakistani Nationals for contractual positions under a specialized Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) project.
The project is titled “Cultivation & Processing of Medicinal & Industrial Cannabis on Experimental Fields and Establishment of Testing and Product Development Facilities (PCSIR & Arid Agriculture University).”
Available Vacancies and Eligibility Criteria
The recruitment drive aims to fill three specific technical roles on a lump-sum pay basis at the PCSIR Labs Complex on Ferozepur Road, Lahore.

| Technician (Textile) | 01 | Qualification: BSc/BS Textile Engineering. Experience: Preferably 2–3 years of experience in textile machinery, fiber processing, spinning, and industrial production systems. Preference is given to those with practical experience in hemp fiber extraction, string spinning, and fiber extraction machinery design. Responsibilities: Fiber processing and machine handling. |
Key Terms and Conditions
Interested candidates should carefully review the following guidelines outlined before applying:
- Nature of Appointment: The positions are purely on a contract basis for an initial period of 12 months. This is extendable by another year based on satisfactory performance until the completion of the project. There is absolutely no provision for regularization.
- Selection Process: Selection will be made strictly on a merit basis. Only short-listed candidates will be called for a test or interview. No TA/DA will be provided.
- Posting Location: While the project is based in Lahore, selected candidates can be posted anywhere in PCSIR Laboratories across the country.
- Government Servants: Candidates currently working in the government sector must apply through the proper channel.
