Pakistan Airports Authority Announces Openings for Visiting Medical Consultants and Flight Surgeons
The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has officially announced multiple job openings seeking qualified and experienced medical professionals. As seen in the official advertisement, the authority is looking to engage Visiting Medical Consultants (Full-Time & Part-Time) and Flight Surgeons to serve at various airports and operational locations across Pakistan, with a strong emphasis on strengthening medical presence in remote areas.
Scope of Services
Selected medical professionals will be tasked with critical healthcare and regulatory responsibilities, including:
- Operational Medical Services: Providing first aid to passengers and managing emergency medical responses during aircraft-related incidents.
- Regulatory Functions: Conducting random alcohol testing and assisting in investigations related to aviation incidents/accidents at aprons and Passenger Terminal Buildings (PTB).
- Employee Medical Services: Providing necessary medical care to PAA employees in accordance with applicable service regulations.
Available Positions & Eligibility Criteria
The recruitment drive is split into three primary categories depending on the location and nature of the contract:
A. Full-Time Visiting Consultants
- Locations: BNB Sukkur Airport, Nawabshah Airport, Gilgit Airport, Skardu Airport, Gwadar Airport, and Muridke Aerodrome.
- Eligibility:
- MBBS (Minimum 2nd Division) from an HEC-recognized university.
- Valid registration with the PMDC.
- Minimum of 05 years post-house job experience in reputable hospitals (preferably tertiary care/teaching institutions) in Emergency Care, Medicine, or Cardiac Care.
- Availability to serve at the Medical Inspection (M.I.) Room on a daily basis or as required.
- Working Hours: 08 hours per day, aligned with flight schedules and airport management requirements.
B. Part-Time Visiting Consultants
- Locations: Turbat Airport, Panjgur Airport, Rahim Yar Khan Airport, D.I. Khan Airport, Saidu Sharif Airport, Moenjodaro Airport, Zhob Airport, D.G. Khan Airport, Bahawalpur Airport, Chitral Airport, and Dalbandin Airport.
- Eligibility:
- MBBS (Minimum 2nd Division) from an HEC-recognized university.
- Valid PMDC registration.
- Minimum of 02 years post-house job experience in relevant medical fields.
- Availability as per flight schedules and operational requirements.
- Working Hours: 04 hours as per flight schedules and requirements set by the Airport Manager.
C. Flight Surgeon
- Location: Flight Inspection Unit (FIU), Headquarters PAA.
- Eligibility:
- MBBS (Minimum 2nd Division) from an HEC-recognized university with valid PMDC registration.
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in Aviation Medicine.
- Minimum of 05 years of experience as a Flight Surgeon in a reputable organization or airline.
- Working Hours: 04 hours fortnightly, alongside on-call availability as required by the Flight Inspection Unit.
Remuneration and Terms
According to the details, the engagement will be made as per terms approved by the competent authority. Selected candidates will receive remuneration of up to Rs. 10,000/- per day, which will vary depending on the specific location and the candidate’s level of experience.
