The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), one of the nation’s largest financial institutions, has officially announced a major career opportunity for high-level banking professionals. As detailed in the advertisement , the bank is seeking a qualified individual to fill a critical executive role based in Karachi: Wing Head – Branch Operations & Coordination (VP / SVP).

This strategic position reports directly to the Divisional Head – Branch Banking and is designed for an experienced leader capable of driving socioeconomic growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing robust branch operations.

Key Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational & Professional Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirement: Graduation or equivalent degree from a local or international university, college, or institute recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
  • Preferred: Candidates holding a Master’s degree and/or relevant professional diplomas and certifications will be given preference.

2. Experience

  • A minimum of 12 years of banking experience is mandatory.
  • Out of the total experience, at least 05 years must be specifically in managing Branch Banking Operations at a Divisional, Regional, Zonal, or Cluster Head level.

3. Core Skills & Expertise

The ideal candidate must possess:

  • Deep knowledge of branch banking operations, internal audit frameworks, prudential regulations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience handling internal/external audit teams and analyzing audit observations.
  • Strong analytical, risk assessment, leadership, and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with a proactive attitude.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

The selected Wing Head will oversee a comprehensive portfolio of operational and compliance duties.

  • Audit & Compliance: Reviewing audit reports, coordinating resolutions with regions to ensure corrective actions, and ensuring timely submission of responses, action plans, and evidence against audit findings.
  • Regulatory Oversight: Providing State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) pre-inspection data, managing inspection reports, overseeing data submission for SBP regulatory compliance, and coordinating with external and AGP auditors.
  • Risk Management: Monitoring the risk portal, addressing portal exceptions with regional teams, tracking resolution progress, and supervising Daily Transaction Report (DTR) violations.
  • Operational Excellence: Reviewing annual performance and risk factors to suggest process improvements, ensuring branches provide high-quality and timely customer service, and managing RMT visit reports.

Employment Terms & Selection Process

Employment Type: The position is offered on a contractual basis for three years, which may be renewed at the discretion of the Management. The selected candidate will receive a compensation package and benefits aligned with the Bank’s policies and rules.

Selection Process: Only shortlisted candidates who strictly meet the basic eligibility criteria will be invited for panel interviews. No TA/DA will be provided for the interview process.
