FGEI Directorate Announces Multiple Job Vacancies Under Ministry of Defence
The Federal Government Educational Institutions (Cantonments/Garrisons) Directorate, Rawalpindi, has officially released a “Situation Vacant” notice for numerous teaching and non-teaching positions. These roles are available on a permanent basis within the Ministry of Defence, offering a significant opportunity for Pakistani nationals to join the federal workforce.

Available Positions and Categories
The recruitment drive is divided into three primary categories: Teaching Staff, Non-Teaching Staff, and Class-IV Staff.
1. Teaching Staff
Vacancies in the teaching department range from BPS-06 to BPS-15. Key roles include:
- Librarian (Male, BPS-15): Requires a Graduate degree with a Diploma in Library Science.
- Elementary School Teacher (Male/Female, BPS-14): A large number of seats (52 for Male, 35 for Female) are available for those with a 2nd Class Bachelor’s degree (14 years of education).
- Assistant Librarian (Female, BPS-09): Requires Matric with a Certificate in Library Science.
- Band Master (Male, BPS-06): Requires Matric and a specialized certificate in Band/Music.
2. Non-Teaching Staff
A variety of administrative and technical support roles are available, primarily for candidates aged 18–33:
- Assistant (BPS-15): Graduation required; candidates must complete an IT training course after selection.
- Steno Typist (BPS-14): Requires Intermediate qualification with specific shorthand and typing speeds.
- Accountant (BPS-14): Open to B.Com or equivalent degree holders.
- Upper (UDC) and Lower (LDC) Division Clerks: Multiple openings requiring Intermediate and Matric qualifications respectively, along with basic IT proficiency.
- Laboratory Assistant & Steward (BPS-07): Entry-level roles requiring Matric with relevant science or experience backgrounds.
3. Specialized Education Roles
The Sir Syed School & College of Special Education in Rawalpindi is also hiring for specific roles including Drawing Teachers, Instructors for Knitting/Dress Making, and UDCs. These positions are specifically tied to the Rawalpindi location.
Quota Distribution
The positions are distributed according to a strict regional and provincial quota system to ensure national representation:
- Merit (7.5%)
- Punjab (50%)
- Sindh (Rural/Urban)
- KPK
- Balochistan
- Ex-FATA, GB, and AJ&K
- Specific quotas for Minorities (Non-Muslims) and Persons with Disabilities are also highlighted.
Key Requirements and Application Process
Age Relaxation: While the standard age limits are generally between 18 and 30/35 years, relaxation is provided for specific categories:
- 3 years for Scheduled Castes, Buddhist communities, and candidates from specific regions (GB, AJ&K, etc.).
- 10 years for Government servants with 2 years of continuous service.
- 15 years (or number of years served) for released or retired Armed Forces personnel.
- 10 years for candidates with disabilities.
