Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Limited Announces MS Scholarships for Fall 2026
Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Limited (KS&EW) has officially invited applications for its prestigious Postgraduate Scholarship program. Aimed at nurturing talent in the maritime sector, the scholarship supports students pursuing a Master’s (MS) program in Naval Architecture at NUST Karachi for the Fall 2026 session.
This initiative is designed to bridge the gap between advanced academic study and professional practice, as the scholarship is followed by a career at KS&EW.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Age Limit: Maximum of 26 years.
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree (BE) in one of the following disciplines:
- Naval Architecture, Marine, Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, Aerospace, Industrial and Manufacturing, or Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering.
- Accreditation: Degrees must be accredited by PEC or HEC (as applicable).
- Academic Standing: * Sixteen years of schooling or a 4-year education after HSSC/A-Level.
- Minimum CGPA of 2.0 out of 4.0 or 55% marks (percentage is only considered if the CGPA is not provided on the transcript).
Application and Selection Process
The selection process is integrated with the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) admission cycle:
- Online Registration: Candidates must first apply online for NUST admission.
- Testing: Applicants are required to appear for the GRE/GAT/GNET/HAT as specified on the NUST admissions website.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates who meet the NUST requirements will be called for an interview at KS&EW.
- Final Selection: The final decision rests with the KS&EW management.
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship offers comprehensive financial support, covering:
- Full tuition and admission processing fees.
- Security deposits and hostel fees (if applicable).
- Self-medical health insurance for the duration of the MS program.
- A monthly stipend of Rs. 25,000/-.
Terms and Conditions
Candidates should be aware of the professional commitment associated with this program:
- Service Bond: Successful individuals are required to serve at Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Ltd. for a minimum period of 8 years upon completion of their degree.
- Performance Standards: If academic performance is found unsatisfactory, the scholarship may be withdrawn. In such cases, the individual may be liable to refund expenses incurred, up to Rs. 1.5 Million.
- NOC: Existing employees must provide a No Objection Certificate from their current employer.
- Documentation: Candidates must submit their test scores prior to the final interview.
