WAPDA Announces High-Level Consultancy Opening for Safe City & IT Projects

The Pakistan Water & Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has officially invited applications for the position of Consultant (Safe City Projects & IT Matters). This recruitment drive is part of WAPDA’s ongoing “Decade of Dams” initiative, specifically targeting the Diamer Basha Dam Project and the Dasu Hydropower Project (HPP).

This role is designed for a seasoned professional capable of overseeing complex technological infrastructures in some of Pakistan’s most critical engineering environments.


Key Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this high-impact role, candidates must meet rigorous academic and professional standards:

  • Educational Background: A Master’s degree or 16 years of education in Software Engineering, IT, Computer Sciences, Electrical, Electronics, or Telecom Engineering.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. This must include exposure to policy formulation, project management, and execution within an international learning environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proven hands-on experience with CCTV systems, command & control centers, and integrated IT infrastructure is mandatory.

Job Mandate and Responsibilities

The selected consultant will be responsible for the technical backbone of these mega-projects. Key duties include:

  • Providing technical advice for High-Level Design (HLD) to ensure smooth deployment.
  • Preparing critical technical documents, including KPIs, TORs, and BOQs.
  • Liaising with stakeholders during the design, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Ensuring the efficient integration of various system components across project sites.

Terms of Appointment

The position is offered on a contract basis with a lumpsum pay package.

  • Duration: Initially for 01 year, including a 06-month probation period.
  • Extensibility: The contract may be extended based on performance and organizational needs.
  • Compensation: Competitive market-based salary commensurate with the candidate’s experience.
