Research Assistant Position Available at University of Sargodha on HEC-Funded Pharmacogenetics Project
The Department of Biotechnology at the University of Sargodha has announced a vacancy for a Research Assistant under a federally funded research project. The position is part of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) National Research Program for Universities (NRPU) project No. 142969-28.
The project, titled “Pharmacogenetic analysis of drug metabolizing enzymes for their effect on the efficacy of antihypertensive drugs,” is led by Principal Investigator (PI) Dr. Misbah Hussain. The initiative seeks to explore how genetic variations in drug-metabolizing enzymes influence how patients respond to blood pressure medications, an area of study that lies at the intersection of genomics and personalized medicine.
Position Details & Eligibility
The department is inviting applications for one Research Assistant position, initially for one year with the possibility of extension to a second year. The selected candidate will receive a monthly remuneration of Rs. 100,000.
To be eligible, applicants must hold a Master’s degree or higher in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a closely related discipline from an HEC-recognized university (either in Pakistan or abroad). Strong report writing and data handling skills are essential.
Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in:
· Human sample collection
· Research team management
· Digital skills
