Pakistan Railways Invites Applications from Retired Signal Staff for One-Year Contract
Pakistan Railways has announced job vacancies for retired staff of its Signal Department, inviting applications for re-engagement on a one-year contract basis. The announcement was made by the Chief Personnel Officer at the Railways Headquarters Office in Lahore.
The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of eight vacancies for the position of Sub Engineer (Signal) in BPS-11. Eligible candidates include retired officials who previously served as Sub Engineer (BS-11) or Signal Inspector (BS-16) within Pakistan Railways. Applicants must possess a Matriculation or a DAE in Electrical, Electronics, or Telecom from a recognized Board of Technical Education.
Alternatively, candidates who have not retired from Pakistan Railways but hold a DAE in the relevant fields with more than three years of experience in railway signaling projects are also eligible to apply.
Age Limit and Key Terms
The maximum age limit for applicants is 62 years. Selected candidates will be required to undergo a medical fitness examination at a Pakistan Railways Hospital.
It is important to note that individuals who were retired compulsorily, removed, dismissed from service, or retired on medical grounds are not eligible. Furthermore, re-engaged staff will not be entitled to gratuity or pension distribution during the contract period.
The competent authority reserves the right to reject any application or change the number of posts without assigning a reason. Selected persons may be posted anywhere within the entire railway system.
Application Process & Deadline
Interested candidates must submit a typed application along with the following attested documents:
· All educational certificates
· Computerized National Identity Card
· Railway retired identity card
· Photocopies of PPO (Pension Payment Order) and LPC (Last Pay Certificate)
· Service certificate
· Three fresh passport-size photographs
· Three postal envelopes (with RAD card), complete address, and cell number written on them
A postal order of Rs. 1,000 (as a processing fee) must be attached to each application. Applications should be sent to the Chief Personnel Officer, Pakistan Railways Headquarters Office, Empress Road, Lahore.
No TA/DA will be paid for interviews or medical examinations. The last date for submission of applications is June 22, 2026.
