Ministry of Commerce Announces Research Associate Vacancy for Trade Professionals
The Government of Pakistan’s Ministry of Commerce has announced a job opening for the position of Research Associate (Category-III), inviting qualified professionals to join its research team dedicated to enhancing the country’s trade and economic performance.
According to an official advertisement, the ministry is looking to fill two posts on a contract basis, initially for one year with the possibility of extension based on performance. Successful candidates will be offered market-competitive salaries.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent (16 years of education) in Economics, Public Policy, International Trade, International Development, or any relevant social sciences discipline. A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required, along with at least one publication in a reputable peer-reviewed academic journal, book, book chapter, or conference proceedings.
The age limit for applicants is a maximum of 35 years as of the date of the advertisement.
Required and Desirable Skills
The Ministry seeks candidates with strong analytical and writing skills. Essential technical competencies include expertise in handling data using Advanced Excel techniques, as well as experience in data cleaning and handling micro datasets.
Desirable skills include familiarity with data visualization and statistical tools such as Power BI, Stata, Python, or R.
