Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Announces High-Level Legal Vacancies
The Government of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), based in Islamabad, has officially announced new high-level employment opportunities for qualified legal professionals. According to the official advertisement provided , applications are being invited for contract-based positions under the Management Position (MP) Scales.
These legal advisory roles are critical for handling matters related to international law and state diplomacy.
Vacant Positions & Eligibility Criteria
The recruitment is being carried out entirely on an open merit basis. The two key positions announced, along with their respective qualifications and experience requirements, are outlined below:
1. Deputy Legal Advisor (MP-II Scale)
- Education & Experience Option A: Ph.D. in any field of International Law with at least 05 years of experience as a licensed practicing Advocate in Pakistan.
- Education & Experience Option B: Master’s degree in any field of International Law with at least 07 years of experience as a licensed practicing Advocate in Pakistan.
2. Assistant Legal Advisor (MP-III Scale)
- Education & Experience Option A: Ph.D. in any field of International Law with at least 03 years of experience as a licensed practicing Advocate in Pakistan.
- Education & Experience Option B: Master’s degree in any field of International Law with at least 05 years of experience as a licensed practicing Advocate in Pakistan.
Contract Tenure & Age Limit
- Age Limit: The maximum age limit for both posts is 62 years, calculated as of the closing date for application submission.
- Tenure: Selected candidates will initially be hired for a three (03) year contract. This period is further extendable for a maximum of two (02) years on an annual basis, depending on satisfactory performance.
Salary and Compensation Packages
The remuneration for these positions follows the Federal Government’s MP Scales Policy 2020, offering competitive basic salaries and allowances:
