Career Opportunity: Pakistan WAPDA Foundation Announces Senior Engineering Management Role
The Pakistan Water & Power Development Authority Foundation (PWF) has officially announced a high-level career opportunity for dynamic engineering professionals. According to the official advertisement , the foundation is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill the position of Manager, Power Transformers Engineering Services Unit (PTESU) under BPS-19.
The PWF operates various welfare projects dedicated to retired employees and the families of deceased employees across WAPDA, DISCOs, GENCOs, and NTDC. This critical role aims to bring in a leader capable of enhancing the operational efficiency of their engineering services.
Key Job Details & Eligibility Criteria
Interested candidates must meet stringent technical and administrative benchmarks to be considered for this open-merit position:
- Job Tenure: The appointment is contract-based, initially for one year. It is extendable up to a maximum of 3 years or until the candidate reaches the age of 65, whichever comes first, based on satisfactory performance.
- Educational Qualification: A B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from an HEC-recognized university.
- Age Limit: Maximum of 62 years. The position heavily favors retired employees of WAPDA, DISCOs, or NTDC who hold a clean, commendable service record.
- Experience Required: A minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Superintending Engineer / Manager in BPS-19 or higher positions (such as CEs/GMs). Specific experience working with Power Transformers is highly preferred.
Core Areas of Responsibility
The selected Manager will oversee operations at the PTESU (PWF) located in Kot Lakhpat. Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and ensuring the quality repair of power transformers across all capacities.
- Managing the administration of the PTESU facility and the control/management of its Main Store.
- Overseeing the operational control of Regeneration/Dehydration Plants.
- Inspecting materials required for repairs and supervising the disposal of dismantled materials.
- Monitoring billings and financial recoveries related to transformer repairs for various DISCOs and external organizations.
- Providing strategic suggestions to the PWF to continuously improve repair quality.
- Supervising the Accounts Section of the unit.
