Career Opportunities at National Skills University Islamabad: Hiring for HEC Approved NRPU Project (2025-2026)

National Skills University (NSU) Islamabad has announced exciting career opportunities for project-based roles under an Higher Education Commission (HEC) approved National Research Programme for Universities (NRPU) project. As seen in the official advertisement, the university is looking for qualified, skilled individuals to contribute to a cutting-edge initiative aimed at bridging technical education with modern tech industries.

The project is titled “Bridging TVET to IT Employment: An ANN Guided Skills Mapping, Shortage Forecasting, and Placement Pilot for Pakistan” (Project No. 165444-43), led by Principal Investigator Prof. Dr. Saud Altaf.

Available Positions and Eligibility Criteria

The recruitment drive includes three distinct categories of positions, catering to researchers, current undergraduate students, and short-term project support staff.

1. Research Assistant (01 Position)

• Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must hold an MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a relevant field from an HEC recognized university.
• Preferred Skills: Strong skills in Python, machine learning, Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Natural Language Processing (NLP), data analysis, survey design, and report writing. Previous experience in TVET, skills mapping, employability, or placement-related projects will be considered an advantage.
• Remuneration: Rs. 80,000 to 100,000 per month (lump-sum).
• Duration: Maximum of 18 months.

2. Undergraduate Student (02 Positions)

• Eligibility Criteria: This opportunity is open to currently enrolled undergraduate students at National Skills University Islamabad majoring in Computer Science, Information Engineering Technology, Cyber Security, or related fields.
• Preferred Skills: Candidates with strong skills in MS Excel, Google Forms, data collection, Python, web and mobile app development, alongside knowledge of ANN models and their practical implementation and report writing.
• Remuneration: Rs. 15,000 to 20,000 per month (lump-sum).
• Duration: Maximum of 18 months.

3. Short Term Project Personnel (01 Position)

• Eligibility Criteria: A minimum of 12 years of education is required. Required support areas include field coordination, data collection, data entry, dashboard or portal support, documentation, and technical reporting.
• Preferred Skills: Practical exposure to IT skills is highly preferred.
• Remuneration: Rs. 20,000 per month (lump-sum).
• Duration: Maximum of 10 months.
