Government of Punjab Announces New Contractual Job Opportunities in Archaeology & Tourism

The Government of the Punjab, via the Directorate General of Archaeology, Tourism, Archaeology and Museum Department, has announced several high-level contractual job opportunities. As detailed in the advertisement , these positions are for the ADP Project titled “Establishment of Program Management Unit (PMU) for Punjab Tourism Rehabilitation and Revamping Projects.”

Qualified and experienced Pakistani nationals are invited to apply for these specialized roles across various technical sections.

Available Vacancies and Eligibility Criteria

The advertisement lists four primary positions distributed across three specialized sections:

1. Conservation & Design Section

  • Position: Chief Conservationist (Built Heritage) (PPS-11)
  • Number of Posts: 01
  • Age Limit: Up to 65 years
  • Qualification: PhD or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture from an HEC-recognized university. Registration with PCATP or PEC is mandatory.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience for PhD holders, or 15 years for Master’s degree holders, specifically in conservation, restoration, or heritage-based construction projects.

2. Development Section

  • Position: Structural Engineer (PPS-09)
  • Number of Posts: 01
  • Age Limit: Up to 50 years
  • Qualification: Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering or a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an HEC-recognized university. PEC registration is required.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of structural design experience with a Master’s degree, or 10 years with a Bachelor’s degree. Experience in retrofitting and supervision on heritage-sensitive structures is preferred.
  • Position: Horticulture Expert (PPS-08)
  • Number of Posts: 01
  • Age Limit: Up to 40 years
  • Qualification: Master’s in Horticulture with a specialization in Landscaping and floriculture.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in horticulture work and landscaping.

3. Field Implementation Unit

  • Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (PPS-07)
  • Number of Posts: 01
  • Age Limit: Up to 35 years
  • Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or Project/Construction Management from an HEC-recognized university.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of supervision or monitoring of construction/conservation projects.

Important Terms & Conditions

  • Application Process: Applications must be submitted online through the Punjab Job Portal at www.jobs.punjab.gov.pk. Separate applications must be submitted if applying for more than one post.
  • Nature of Appointment: These jobs are strictly temporary, contractual, non-transferable, and non-pensionable. They do not confer any right for regularization.
  • Salary Package: Salaries will be paid on a lump-sum basis (including all allowances) with a 4% annual increment in the Project Pay Scale.
  • Government Servants: Candidates currently working in government or semi-government sectors must provide a prior No Objection Certificate (NOC) to apply.
  • Selection Process: Only short-listed candidates will be contacted or called for an interview. No TA/DA will be provided.
