Karachi Education Directorate Announces Recruitment for Junior and Accounts Clerks (BPS-11)
KARACHI – The Directorate of Elementary, Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, Karachi Region, has issued an advertisement inviting applications from eligible candidates domiciled in Karachi for multiple non-gazetted, non-teaching vacancies.
According to an official notification released by Mirza Arshad Baig, Director of the Directorate, the recruitment drive seeks to fill positions under the administrative control of the School Education & Literacy Department, Government of Sindh.
Vacant Positions and Eligibility
The advertisement lists two distinct posts, both falling under BPS-11 (Pay Point 11):
- Junior Clerk (12 vacancies)
· Qualification: Graduation in at least the Second Division from an HEC-recognized university, plus a six-month certificate course in MS Office from an institute recognized by the Sindh Board of Education or the Trade Testing Board.
· Age Limit: 21 to 28 years. - Accounts Clerk (4 vacancies)
· Qualification: B.Com or BBA (Finance) with at least a Second Division from an HEC-recognized university.
· Age Limit: 21 to 28 years.
Key Application Conditions
The department has specified several mandatory conditions for prospective applicants:
· Online Application: Candidates must apply through the Government of Sindh’s official job portal at https://sip.gov.pk.
· Mandatory Screening Test: Applicants are required to have successfully passed the General Screening Test for the Graduation Category with at least 40% marks, conducted by the Sukkur IBA Testing Services (STS), and possess the corresponding certificate.
· Age Calculation: For candidates who applied for the test prior to October 16, 2024, age will be calculated from the closing date of the previous application round (November 30, 2021). For those who applied after the promulgation of the Sindh Civil Servants (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit) Rules, 2024, age will be calculated from May 12, 2025, with a 5-year age relaxation applicable.
· Government Employees: Those already in government service must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their department before applying and submit the original copy at the time of interview.
· Quota: Reserved quotas as per Government of Sindh laws, rules, or policies will be adhered to.
· Interview Schedule: Shortlisted applicants must appear before the Departmental Selection Committee with original documents; the interview schedule will be uploaded on the job portal.
· No TA/DA: No travel or daily allowance will be provided for attending the interview.
The department has noted that the number of posts can be increased or decreased. Appointments will be made according to the Government of Sindh’s policy notified on April 26, 2023, and under the provisions of the Sindh Civil Servants Act, 1973.
Eligible candidates with the required domicile and qualifications have been advised to submit their applications within 15 days of the publication of the advertisement.
