Ministry of National Food Security & Research Announces Senior Leadership Vacancies at PARC
The Government of Pakistan’s Ministry of National Food Security & Research has officially released a “Situations Vacant” notice for high-level leadership positions within the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC).
PARC is seeking dynamic, eminent agriculture scientists and research managers capable of driving strategic planning, implementation, and policy formulation in agricultural research. The available roles are for Whole Time Members (MP-II Scale) in two critical disciplines.
Vacant Positions and Post Breakdown
There are two distinct senior leadership roles available, with one vacancy for each:
- Member (Natural Resources) — 01 Post
- Member (Animal Sciences) — 01 Post
Academic Qualification & Experience Requirements
To qualify for these highly competitive MP-II scale positions, candidates must fulfill a stringent set of academic and professional criteria:
- Education: A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
- Academic Record: Candidates must possess a First Division or a CGPA of 3.00 or higher in their highest degree. Furthermore, they must not have more than one second division or Grade C throughout their academic career.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 20 years of proven experience in an R&D organization or recognized higher learning institution (public or private sector). This must include proven experience managing a multidisciplinary group of scientists and researchers.
- Publications: A minimum of 15 research publications in HEC-recognized, refereed journals or books.
- Core Competencies:
- Demonstrated leadership in managing multidisciplinary agricultural research programs.
- Proven ability to effectively mobilize and utilize both financial and human resources.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Nationality Constraint: Candidates must not hold dual nationality.
Key Terms, Conditions & Eligibility

- Tenure: The initial appointment is for a period of three years, extendable for a maximum of an additional two years on an annual basis, subject to satisfactory performance.
- Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 62 years, in accordance with the Management Position Scales Policy-2020 (as amended from time to time).
- Government Servants: If a current civil or government servant is selected through the competitive process, they must either resign or take early retirement, completely severing ties with their parent cadre/ministry before joining the MP Scale position.
- Nationality: Pakistani nationals only.
