New Job Opportunities in Local Government and Rural Development Department AJK
The Local Government and Rural Development Department of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has announced various temporary job openings for residents of the state. These positions are being filled on a purely temporary basis under the Third Party Act.
Available Positions and Qualifications
The recruitment drive includes several technical and administrative roles, primarily based on “Open Merit.” Key positions include:
- Senior Clerk (B-14): Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an HEC-recognized university and a typing speed of 40 wpm in both English and Urdu.
- Sub-Engineer (B-14): Requires a three-year Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Civil Technology.
- Stenographer (B-14): Candidates need an Intermediate qualification (2nd Division) with shorthand/typing speeds of 80/40 wpm or 70/40 wpm.
- Sanitation Promoter (B-12): Requires a BS in Community Development or a related field; alternatively, an Intermediate qualification with a 2-year diploma in Sanitation or Hygiene is acceptable.
- Community Organizer (B-12): Requires a BS in Community Development/Social Work or an Intermediate qualification with a relevant 2-year diploma.
- Project Assistant (B-11): Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an HEC-recognized university.
- Junior Clerk (B-11): Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a typing speed of 40 wpm in English and Urdu.
- Secretary Union Council (B-07): There are 90 vacancies available for candidates with an Intermediate qualification or a DAE in Civil Technology.
Application Terms and Conditions
Interested candidates must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Documentation: Applicants must provide certified copies of educational certificates, CNIC, domicile, permanent resident certificate (PRC), and two passport-sized photographs.
- Submission: Applications should be submitted to the Office of the Director General, Local Government and Rural Development, located near the PSO Pump, Civil Secretariat, Muzaffarabad.
- Deadlines and Interviews:
- Applications must be submitted within 15 days of the advertisement’s publication.
- Interviews for Serial Nos. 1, 3, and 5 are scheduled for May 18, 2026.
- Interviews for Serial Nos. 4, 6, and 7 are scheduled for May 19, 2026.
- Interviews for the 90 Secretary Union Council posts (Serial No. 8) will take place on May 20, 2026.
- Original Documents: Candidates must bring original documents at the time of the test/interview. No TA/DA will be provided for those appearing for interviews.
- Nature of Employment: These appointments are temporary. According to the notice, temporary service does not grant a right to permanent appointment in the future.
