Punjab Police Special Branch Announces New Career Opportunities

The Special Branch of the Punjab Police has officially released an advertisement detailing new job openings across multiple technical specialized sections. These positions are available on a contract basis for a period of three years, with potential for renewal based on government policy

Breakdown of Available Positions

The vacancies are distributed across three primary technical wings of the Special Branch:

1. Explosive Detection Section (EDS)

  • Assistant Supervisor (BS-09)
    • Vacancies: 09 posts
    • Age Limit: 21–40 years
    • Qualifications: Higher Secondary School Certificate or DAE (second division) from a recognized board, along with a certification in a Bomb Disposal Course and at least two years of relevant experience. Alternatively, retired JCOs/NCOs of the armed forces with a Bomb Disposal certification and requisite field experience are eligible.
  • Operator (BS-05)
    • Vacancies: 13 posts
    • Age Limit: 18–40 years
    • Qualifications: Secondary School Certificate (second division) with a technical certificate (at least 6 months duration) in electrical, electronics, mechanical, chemical, civil, IT, or radio/TV mechanics. Retired NCOs or soldiers from the armed forces with equivalent technical qualifications are also welcome to apply.

2. Surveillance Section (SS)

  • Senior Operator (BS-07)
    • Vacancies: 02 posts
    • Age Limit: 21–40 years
    • Qualifications: Secondary School Certificate (second division) and certification in an intelligence course with at least five years of experience in the relevant field, including knowledge of IT, Computer Science, or Telecommunication. Retired NCOs or soldiers with intelligence course certifications are also eligible.
  • Operator (BS-05)
    • Vacancies: 08 posts
    • Age Limit: 18–40 years
    • Qualifications: Secondary School Certificate (second division) with an intelligence course certification and at least three years of experience in IT, Computer Science, or Telecommunication. This is also open to retired NCOs or soldiers with matching military certifications.

3. Canine Section (CS)

  • Senior Canine Handler (BS-07)
    • Vacancies: 01 post
    • Age Limit: 21–40 years
    • Qualifications: Middle school pass with a basic dog handling course certification and at least five years of experience. Retired NCOs or soldiers with equivalent experience are also eligible.
  • Canine Handler (BS-05)
    • Vacancies: 18 posts
    • Age Limit: 18–40 years
    • Qualifications: Primary school pass with a basic dog handling course certification and a minimum of two years of experience. Open to retired soldiers or above with relevant military dog handling certifications.

Examination Structure and Syllabus

According to FB_IMG_1779705746142.jpg, candidates must clear a written and practical examination. The passing marks for these evaluation papers are set at 40%.

The written test consists of a total of 100 marks, split into two distinct parts:

Paper Composition for Canine Handler (BS-05)

The examination for the Canine Section is also graded out of 100 marks but heavily favors practical expertise:

  • Part 1: MCQs (Relating to Canine Handling) – 50 Marks (Passing marks: 20)
  • Part 2: Practical (Canine Training, Handling, Vaccination, and Care) – 50 Marks (Passing marks: 20)

How to Apply & Important Dates

  • Application Submission Window: The application process begins on June 1, 2026, and concludes on the closing date of June 15, 2026.
  • Application Forms: Interested candidates can download the application forms and detailed eligibility criteria directly from the official Punjab Police website at www.punjabpolice.gov.pk.
  • Application Fee: Candidates must submit an application processing fee of Rs. 500/-.
  • Submission Details: Duly filled forms along with attested copies of educational certificates, experience letters, domicile, and CNIC should be submitted to the respective regional offices of the Special Branch listed in the advertisement layout within the designated timeframe.

Government employees are advised to apply through the proper channel (by submitting an NOC). Candidates must bring original documents at the time of the interview. Physical, written, and psychological testing venues and schedules will be communicated post-screening.
