National Bank of Pakistan Announces Career Opportunity for Financial Control Unit Head

As part of its strategic transformation into a future-fit, agile, and sustainable institution, the bank is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Unit Head – Core Banking Application Unit within its Financial Control division, based in Karachi.

Position Details and Eligibility Criteria
The position is offered at the grade of OG-I/AVP and will report directly to the Wing Head – CBA & General Accounting Wing.
Educational Requirements:
Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree from an HEC-recognized institution, supplemented by CA Inter (with completed articleship), ACCA, or ACMA qualifications.
Experience:
A minimum of four years of relevant experience in finance or accounting within a financial institution or an audit firm is required.
Key Responsibilities
The Unit Head will be responsible for a range of critical financial operations, including:
· Preparing periodic financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual) in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
· Maintaining and updating the Bank’s Chart of Accounts (COA) to align with business and reporting needs.
· Monitoring daily accounting postings and transactions to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
· Reviewing and validating accounting entries and system configurations for policy compliance.
· Performing regular reconciliation of General Ledger (GL) balances.
· Supporting internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
· Ensuring strict adherence to internal controls, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
Desired Skills and Competencies
NBP is looking for a detail-oriented professional with strong business acumen, excellent report writing and analytical skills. Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and a basic understanding of Power BI are essential. The ideal candidate must be well-versed in relevant regulatory guidelines.
Employment Terms and Application Process
