Aga Khan University Announces Faculty Recruitment for Medical College
The Aga Khan University (AKU), Pakistan’s first private university chartered in 1983, has announced multiple faculty openings across several departments of its Medical College. As a not-for-profit institution and part of the Aga Khan Development Network, AKU continues to strengthen its academic and research capacity with positions based at its Karachi campus.

Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences
Rank: Senior Instructor to Assistant Professor
Requirements:
· MSc/MPhil/PhD in Community Ophthalmology or Community Health Sciences (after MBBS), or MPhil/PhD in Optometry & Vision Sciences
· Special interest and experience in Community Health Sciences
· Minimum two years of relevant experience (preferred)
· Experience in community eye care, project management, and monitoring & evaluation (preferred)
Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
Rank: Senior Instructor to Assistant Professor
Requirements:
· FCPS, FRCPath, American Board, or equivalent qualification
· Postgraduate training from a reputable institution
· Demonstrated scholarly achievement through research, publications, and/or contributions to education
· Minimum 3–4 years of faculty experience in a reputable institution
Department of Radiology
Rank: Up to the level of Assistant Professor
Requirements:
· FCPS, FRCR, American Board, or equivalent qualification
· Completion of a structured postgraduate training programme
· Fellowship in Women’s Imaging and/or Body Imaging (advantage)
· Minimum five years of relevant experience in a reputable institution
· Evidence of scholarship through research, publications, and/or contributions to education
Department of Psychiatry
Rank: Senior Instructor to Assistant Professor
Requirements:
· FCPS, MRCPsych, CPSP Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, American Board, or equivalent
· Completion of structured postgraduate training in Psychiatry
· Valid PMDC licence
· Strong interpersonal and patient-care skills
· Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality
Department of Biological and Biomedical Sciences
Rank: Associate Professor to Professor
Requirements:
· PhD or equivalent in a relevant field, preferably with a medical degree
· Minimum two years of postdoctoral experience
· Experience teaching across programme levels and supervising graduate students
· Ability to secure research grants and extramural funding
· Strong publication and research profile with demonstrated scholarly impact
