HEC Announces Recruitment for Director General (BPS-20) – 05 Vacancies
Islamabad, Pakistan – The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has released a vacancy announcement inviting applications from qualified professionals for the post of Director General in BPS-20 (Regular). A total of five positions are available, with postings anywhere at HEC, including its regional centres in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following age and qualification requirements:
· Minimum Age: 40 years
· Maximum Age: 55 years (includes a 5‑year general age relaxation already added)
Qualification & Experience
Applicants can qualify under any of the following three routes:
Qualification Required Experience (BPS-17 or equivalent)
PhD degree 13 years (including 10 years mandatory experience in General / University Administration)
MPhil degree (18 years education) 15 years (including 10 years mandatory administrative experience)
Master’s degree (16 years education) 17 years (including 10 years mandatory administrative experience)
Important: Experience is counted only after obtaining the required qualification. Part‑time, honorary, apprentice, and intern positions are not considered.
Quota Breakdown
The five posts are allocated as follows:
· Merit – 1
· Punjab – 2
· Sindh (R) – 1
· Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – 1
