ITU Lahore Announces Research Assistant Positions for HEC-Funded Project

The Information Technology University (ITU) in Lahore has announced new job opportunities under the Higher Education Commission’s National Research Program for Universities (NRPU-HEC). Applications are currently being accepted for project-based roles aimed at developing cutting-edge educational technology for future engineers.

The Project

The vacancies are part of an innovative research initiative titled:

“A Framework for Development of Innovative Virtual Labs in Outcome-Based Education using Digital Twin for Industry-Ready Engineering Graduates.”

This project focuses on leveraging digital twin technology to bridge the gap between academic engineering education and real-world industrial needs.

Available Positions & Eligibility Criteria

ITU is looking to recruit two (2) Research Assistants on a lump-sum pay basis. The key eligibility details include:

• Position: Research Assistant (2 Posts)
• Age Limit: Maximum 45 years
• Required Qualification: Candidates must possess at least 16 years of education in one of the following fields (or a closely related discipline from an HEC-recognized institution):
  • Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering / Software Engineering
  • Computer Science / Artificial Intelligence / Mechatronics Engineering

Preferred Experience & Skills

While meeting the basic qualification is necessary, preference will be given to candidates who have relevant experience in the following specialized domains:

• Applied electromagnetics, RF and antennas, or microwave engineering
• Engineering software development and simulation
• Embedded systems and Internet of Things (IoT)
• Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data analytics

Additionally, possessing strong programming skills, technical writing capabilities, and excellent English communication skills will serve as a distinct advantage for applicants.
